During my many safaris, clients ask me questions, I have taken them up here.

Kenya in general is a very quiet country. In all the parks visited, there is never a problem. You just have to avoid the north of the country next to Somalia.

People are very respectful and we don’t get attacked. The guide will advise you on what you can or cannot do.

Accidents happen but very few. The drivers are cautious and in addition the vehicle engines are restricted and they do not exceed 80 km/h. Do not panic !

The condition of the roads has improved considerably over the past few years, especially the national roads. The tracks aren’t that bad. Except during the rainy season. They are damaged by the rain.

The longest journey between certain destinations lasts between 7 and 8 hours per day and the shortest possible between 3 and 4 hours. These times allow you to rest but also to discover the many different landscapes and observe the daily life of Kenyans.

It is well advised not to use tap water. There is bottled drinking water everywhere.

Tipping is not compulsory but customary. You can give some to the people who will make your stay a beautiful memory (the luggage carriers, your waiter at the lodge, the cleaning lady, the guides). It is advisable for the driver guide to give between 10 to 15 euros per person per day. Do not exchange euros for dollars, because euros can be used everywhere. At the airport you can change your euros for Kenyan shillings 1 euro corresponds to approximately 113 shillings (150 shillings is a basic tip for small services).

Dress lightly during the safari as it is hot during the day. Long sleeves are recommended early in the morning and at night. Plan a jacket and a sweater.

It is well advised to take anti-malaria treatment. Prevention is better than cure.

Animals remain animals. Avoid getting too close. The guide knows how to keep you safe, without threatening them we can get closer to enjoy the photos.

The guide holds a sign with your name at the exit of the airport.
